We often hear of the Rules of Photography. You know, the Rule of Thirds, a 40/60 Foreground and background or visa versa, etc.

Just remember that you can follow all the rules and have a boring picture. You can break many rules and have a very interesting image.

Yes, Yes, You do need to know the "Rules" to take better pictures in general. But just remember "Rules" can be broken for a reason.

We are looking for images that grab the heart. Maybe they follow the rules and maybe the don't.
